Abstract

This master’s thesis investigates the obligations and necessary skills of e-Tutor as the new age online educator and processes of deploying and supporting of e-Learning environment. An integrated Knowledge Management framework was used as the theoretical basis for the development of online learning environment to be used as part of blended learning education program. A total of 116 students from all four years of secondary education, enrolled in the computer science course, participated in the survey that was conducted in order to examine potential advantages and limitations of e-Learning environment. The survey was focused on knowledge area preferences, learning processes and their use of traditional and online learning environments. Individual surveyed responses were extracted and grouped according to the participants’ classes and groups. The results obtained from the survey provide interesting insights into the limitations and potential of information technology use in secondary education. They also suggest that it is possible to develop and deploy e-Learning environment to be successfully used as part of blended learning education program for the students of secondary education.
